BNB Chain will launch BEP-336
On June 18, BNB Chain announced the launch of BEP-336, inspired by Ethereum’s EIP-4844. It aims to optimize data storage and processing on the blockchain, significantly reducing transaction costs (up to 90%). BEP 336 will be officially launched through the Haber hard fork and is expected to take place on June 20, 2023. BEP 336 introduces Blob-Carrying Transactions (BlobTx), a concept aimed at simplifying the network’s transaction verification process. Blob is a temporary and cost-effective memory segment that can capture large data blocks, with a maximum size of up to 128 KB. The network does not need to validate each transaction within the block one by one, only the data attached to the Blob needs to be validated.
